Day Four, Party town

One thing that I really like about walking in the woods, especially off trails, is that you can find some really cool stuff. I've found parts of old cars, plows, hunks of metal, the list goes on and on. This project has been no different, as when I was initially hiking with Josh we found an old fallen down cabin.
There is a wood stove made of a barrel on the left, and old metal roofing and carpet

Another interesting find was, as dubbed by Josh, party town. They were all old, broken and long buried, and the bigger bottle has a fern growing in it.
It was good that a responsible person was drinking 7UP

I did more work on the other path that I had laid out, and got it to a point that I am happy with, with the exception of one corner that I think I am going to shift around a bit. Ill have to make a map of the site with a overlay of the trail on it, then upload that.

Critter Cam

I was moving a rock out of the trail and found these guys!
My resident amphibian expert Lulu tells me that the orange one is a spring salamander and the other one is a northern red back salamander

  2. Oh my gosh, Ethan! This blog is exceptional. Funny, entertaining, beautiful pictures and expertly capturing your joy at being able to spend time in a place you love, doing something you love. Will the trail be called Butterworth? So proud of you!

    1. Thanks, I am having fun, so I guess thats what matters. I hope it won't be called Butterworth, I feel it would be a bit egotistical, or at least a pain to say.
